Luxury Mocha Hot Chocolate Melt

Chocolate and coffee, delcious any time of day, at any time of year.
The pureists say you should never mix chocolate and coffee. But those of us that know what we're doing say that when it's done properly it's match made in heaven.
The Mocha has a complex history, but making the perfect luxury mocha is easy. We alyways reccomend Pickwick Coffee for our mocha as the blend of arabica and robusta beans, and delicate honey flavour, give it the strength and depth to carry over the flavour of the Melt. That said, Abbeygate or King Edmund coffees work well too! The only decision to be made is whether to use a single or double espresso. Whichever you choose simply pour your Melt on top - Dark chocolate for something rich and indulgent, milk chocolate for a perfect balance of sweet and bitter or white chocolate for something a little different. Top with cream and chocolate coated coffee beans for extra decadence.
We like to make this recipe with our 43% Venezuela milk hot chocolate. Great in our full range of white, milk and dark Hot Chocolate Melts.
A mix of Criollo and Trinitario beans from Venezuela. A richer milk chocolate with the distinctive accent of hazelnut, caramel and vanilla.
This Venezuelan chocolate combines a strong cocoa flavour, the impression of roasted beans and a clear nutty taste. The result is an exclusive milk chocolate; creamy, rich and delicious.
Criollo beans are native to Venezuela and are renowned for producing chocolate with richer more intense flavours. Their reputation dates back to the 17th century when Venezuela was the world’s leading cocoa producer.
1883 flavour syrups are made in France using natural spring water and flavours. At Marimba we find these make the perfect match for our Hot Chocolate Melts, not least because of the concentrated flavours meaning a smaller portion size for the same depth of flavour.
You never over sweeten your Melt, whilst getting a full and natural flavour.
We recommend just a 16ml portion for a normal 12oz sized mug. If making one of our delicious flavour combinations of two syrups you need just 8ml of each flavour. This ensures you do not over sweeten or overpower the hot chocolate Melt.

Our popular all-rounder blend for every day. Roasted coffee beans, 80% Arabica, with nutty, almond and sweet honey notes. Beans sourced from Brazil and Vietnam. Linton House coffees are expertly blended and full of character, and we have proudly named them in honour of our home town of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. Charles Dickens’ character Mr Samuel Pickwick, who famously spent time in the town, is brimming with conviviality, hearty appetite and good humour. So, of course, we named our most popular coffee blend after him.

Colombia White 34% Hot Chocolate Melt carton - 240g

£6.95

A divine white chocolate, from Trinitario beans, distinguished by its natural colour and creamy flavour notes. With marked dairy notes of milk and cream, what makes this chocolate stand out is its floral, caramel cocoa undertone. Made entirely from Fino de Aroma beans this is one of the most exceptional white chocolates around. Colombia is a colourful and diverse country and this chocolate is a wonderful expression of that diversity.

Linton House Abbeygate coffee beans - 250g

£4.15

A classy coffee from 100% roasted Arabica beans. From Honduras and Sumatra, aromatic with moderate acidity, a little fruitiness, pronounced earthiness and body. Bury St Edmunds' Abbeygate Street lies right at the heart of the town, bridging the gap between the medieval Abbey ruins and the historic shopping streets. Bustling and lively, yet classically elegant, the street reminds us of our favourite 100% Arabica beans.

Linton House King Edmund coffee beans - 250g

£4.25

Single origin Honduras and 100% RFA certified roasted coffee beans. 100% Arabica, single-origin and 100% Rain Forest Alliance certified. Complex and fruity, with a hint of cocoa. He may have been killed in 869 by the Vikings, but King (later Saint) Edmund lives on in our local folklore and the name of our town. For a while he was the patron saint of England, and we back the campaign to have him rightly reinstated today. So we are proud to have dedicated our most noble coffee in his honour.
